Buying, obtaining, owning and using a yacht is a festive experience in the beginning. It is a sign that you have achieved a certain level of success. It also marks the beginning of being a part of a special community- the seafaring community.

 

Inevitably, owning and operating a seafaring vessel requires acceptance and adherence to a unique form of discipline we often refer to as yeoman’s work or ships operations. When we are at sea, everyone aboard is dependent on the health and integrity of the ship. That means yeoman’s work is everyone’s work.

 

Here at Reid Marine Services in Chilliwack, British Columbia, part of our job is to train clients to be fully competent and responsible owners of their yachts. We don’t want to have a corner on our expertise. We want to share it with you.
